Hulu UX Student Design
Challenge
Though our work with Bixel, we helped Hulu develop the Hulu UX Deisgn Challenge in 2018, a semester-long challenge that partnered Hulu employees with talented community college students to design solutions to make Hulu content and services more accessible to people with disabilities.
Students were divided into five groups and matched with a UX and product design “Hulugan.” They met weekly to research, prototype and test during the design-thinking process. The program culminated at Hulu's offices in December where students presented their prototypes and recommendations to a group of “Hulugans” and engaged in one-on-one conversations to share their findings. Students presented their projects to Hulu executives, including Hulu Vice President of Product Design, John Couch. Hulu has since started hiring interns from local community colleges.
